In the honour of my Grandfather

Gareev Nail Mukhametgarievich

Nail Mukhametgarievich Gareev was born in March 22, 1932 in the village of Alkino, Pokhvistnevsky District (USSR). His brave heart, loyalty to the country, sport and generations, his enthusiasm, iron will and honour have always blazed with fire until he was 84! His attitude to victory, dexterity, ingenuity, and most importantly, faith will always guide and inspire tens, hundreds, thousands and millions of people who want to take their step into a life filled with honour, fiery spirit and faith!


Achievements

I would  like to dedicate this page in honour of my grandfather and his achievements: 

  • Master of Sports of the USSR (1955) in Greco-Roman wrestling;
  • Honoured Trainer of the R.S.F.S.R. (trained more than 20 Masters of Sports of the USSR and Master of International class);
  • Sports Judge of the Republican category;
  • Honorary Citizen of the Pokhvistnevsky District (Samara Region);
  • Vice-World Champion 1955;
  • Champion of the International Friendly Youth Games 1957;
  • Champion of the USSR 1954; 
  • Silver medallist of the champions of the USSR 1959, 1960;
  • Three-times champion of the R.S.F.S.R (Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic);
  • Champion of the international tournament in Greco-Roman wrestling in memory of Poddubny 1962;
  • The first athlete of the Samara region, who travelled as part of the USSR national team to the Olympic Games (Melbourne, 1956)!
